Disability Care Services
Every Physical Or Mental Disability Has Its Unique Challenges
Individuals with disabilities—whether bed- or wheelchair-bound, or living with stroke, Parkinson’s, cerebral palsy, amputation, TBI, schizophrenia, depression, Down syndrome, and more—face daily challenges. The right support helps them stay safe, independent, and engaged at home.

How Guardian Home Care of MI Can Help
Through Michigan’s Home Help Program, individuals with a mental or physical disability can receive care from a trusted family or friend caregiver. Caregivers provide assistance with daily tasks such as mobility, transferring, personal hygiene, homemaking, meal preparation, reminders, communication, and emotional support—helping those with disabilities maintain independence while ensuring caregivers are compensated for their care.

Steps To Receiving Disability Care With a Family or Friend Caregiver

In-Home Assessment
The person receiving care gets assigned an Adult Service Worker who evaluates their home safety and determines how many hours they’re eligible for.

Onboarding of The Family Caregiver
We sign up the family or friend caregiver on CHAMPS, where state will initiate their background check. If they’re eligible, we send them an offer letter and access to a 6-hour online training.
Start of The Paid Care
The family caregiver can clock in and out when providing care and receive their pay weekly through direct deposit.
