Services

Our Home Care Services

At Guardian Home Care of MI, all of our services are provided through Michigan’s Home Help Program, where clients can choose a trusted family member, friend, or caregiver to be paid for their care. From help with daily tasks to personal care, companionship, and support for seniors or people with disabilities, we make it possible for clients to remain safe, comfortable, and independent at home—while ensuring their caregivers receive the support and compensation they deserve.

Home-Based Care With Your Chosen and Trusted Caregiver

Every client has a different story, and with that, unique needs. And who understands those better than someone you already know and trust? Through Michigan’s Home Help Program, we offer the following services for eligible clients who choose to be cared for by a family member or friend caregiver.

Home Help Services

Many Michigan residents don’t realize they can be cared for by someone they know—or be paid for the care they already provide—through the Medicaid Home Help program. Guardian Home Care of MI helps clients and family or friend caregivers access these benefits and services.

Senior Care Services

Seniors can keep their independence while receiving care from someone they know and trust. Through the Home Help program, we guide family caregivers to support older adults with daily needs while preserving dignity, safety, and freedom.

Disability Care Services

Through the Home Help program, family caregivers provide trusted support for loved ones living with physical or mental disabilities. From mobility challenges to conditions such as stroke, Parkinson’s, cerebral palsy, TBI, or schizophrenia, our goal is to help each person live with safety, dignity, and independence.

Senior Care

We love caring for older adults. Our compassionate caregivers enjoy giving them the attention they need and are trained to assist in various ways to preserve their freedom, safety, and dignity.

Disability Care

Our caregivers are dedicated to providing support for those affected by physical or mental disabilities, ranging from stroke, mobility issues, Parkinson’s, cerebral palsy, TBI, schizophrenia, and more.

Respite Care

We understand how challenging and lonely being a family caregiver can be. Our caregivers can support family caregivers who need a helping hand, a fresh perspective on their loved one’s condition, or a wellbeing break.

Personal Care and Companionship

When activities of daily living, such as bathing, housekeeping, or meal preparation become challenging, our caregivers are here for assistance. When socialization is lacking, they can also provide companionship and emotional support.

Special Care Situations

We’re committed to helping with a wide range of other needs, such as individual attention and care in assisted living facilities, assistance and monitoring post-surgery and rehab to prevent readmission, as well as nurse check-ins for Medicaid clients (aka CFI custodial nursing).

Family Caregiver Program (CFI) Services

Many New Hampshire residents who provide care to or receive care from family or friends don’t know all the benefits available through CFI (MI’s Medicaid Waiver Program) and experienced agencies like Guardian Home Care of MI. We’re proud to offer guidance and services

Client Stories

“Anne is hands down the most wonderful aide I’ve ever had. She takes care of everything I need–laundry, cleaning, and more. She’s always there for me, even in the middle of the night. I really appreciate all her hard work, and I just love when she comes by. Anne is the sweetest, and I want everyone to know how much she means to me”.

FAQs

Yes! In Michigan, you may be able to receive wages if your family member or friend has Medicaid and needs help with daily living activities.

It is called "The Home Help program." It is a Medicaid program administered by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS). It allows eligible Michigan residents to hire someone to assist them with their daily activities.

Caregivers who are 18 years or older, are NOT the spouse of the care receiver, and are NOT a parent caring for a minor, are eligible to be paid under the Home Helpers program.

Check out our Home Helpers Services page for more details and how we may help you to get support and compensation for the care you provide.
